My New Notebook

At last I managed to get a notebook from USA. My uncle in Canada brought 2 Lenovo 3000 N100 Laptops and send one to me. The laptop is having Intel CORE 2 Duo 1.6 GHz processor, 1GB RAM, 128 Shared VGA Memory, 120 SATA HDD, Blue Tooth, WiFi, Finger Print Reader etc.
It is under US$ 890.00 and Targus Backpack cost about US$20.00
I got the laptop yesterday. And I'm pretty impressed with the performance, it clearly out performances my Desktop which is having a Intel Pentium 4 (HT) 3 GHz processor and 1 GB RAM. Battery life is about 2+ H but I have the option to get a additional battery with more cells.
I won't be installing Linux on this machine since most of the course work at SLIIT normaly based on Windows, but I have read some positive reviews from the people who have installed Linux N100s.
I spend time installing some software these days some of them were OpenOffice.org, Microsoft Visual Studio Express etc.
BTW It is difficult to get used to the touch pad after using mouse for such a long time.
Many thanks to my uncle and his friend Neil, who brought this laptop to Sri Lanka.
